Death toll from Christmas floods in Philippines reaches 27

The death toll from heavy floods that occurred two days of heavy rains over Christmas in the southern Philippines has risen to 27.
Gazeta.Ru reported on this, citing the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
According to the agency, the flooding affected more than 614,100 Filipinos in 13 regions of the country. In addition, another 112,500 residents had to be evacuated, with 23 people remaining missing.
The report says the flooding has damaged 215 roads, 54 bridges and 24 seaports.
Educational institutions and factories were temporarily closed in 532 towns. A disaster regime has been imposed in 31 cities.
The total damage to infrastructure is estimated at $3.12 million.
