Defence chief: UK may provide Ukraine with Storm Shadow cruise missiles
UK Secretary of Defence Ben Wallace has not ruled out the possibility of providing Ukraine with Storm Shadow cruise missiles.
“UK is open to providing long range weapons to Ukraine if Russia continues bombing civilian infrastructure,” according to Ukraine Battle Map’s report on Twitter.
“Storm Shadow missiles, if they are offered to Ukraine, will greatly increase its capabilities,” the secretary of defence said in an interview with Times Radio.
Wallace explained that the types of weapons will be chosen taking into account Ukraine’s needs and technical capabilities.
He noted that the UK should also replenish its stockpiles of munitions and anti-tank missile systems amid supplies of military equipment and weapons to Ukraine.
“We are not trying to attack Russia. Our job is to help Ukraine defend itself,” he added.
