Denmark commits new funding for Ukraine's energy recovery efforts

13 July 2026 12:28

Denmark will allocate 80 million Danish kroner (approximately $12 million) to support the restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, as Kyiv continues efforts to strengthen its power system ahead of the winter season.

The funding was announced by Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, who said the contribution will be directed to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.

"Russia continues its attacks, leaving Ukrainians w/o light, heat & electricity. With additional DKK 80 million contribution to Ukraine Energy Support Fund, we're helping rebuild critical energy infrastructure & preparing for coming winter," Rasmussen said, according to the Danish Foreign Ministry's official account on X.
