Denmark pledges $600 million to Ukraine in extra aid
The Danish government will provide an additional $600 million in aid to Ukraine in 2026, the country’s Ministry of Defence announced, according to Kristeligt Dagblad.
With this allocation, Denmark’s total support for Ukraine in 2026 will reach $2.2 billion.
The Ukraine Fund (Ukrainefonden) was established in March 2023 by a decision of the Danish government and parliament. It is designed to ensure continuous support from Copenhagen to Ukraine amid ongoing conflict and humanitarian needs.
By the end of 2025, Denmark was reported to be the largest donor to Ukraine relative to its economic size (GDP), with support amounting to nearly 2.9 % of GDP according to the Kiel Institute. This reflects Copenhagen’s strong political and strategic commitment to Kyiv’s defence.
Denmark has approved numerous military aid packages for Ukraine over the course of the war.The 28th aid package approved in late 2025 was worth about 1.4 billion Danish kroner (~$217 million) and included funding for domestic weapons production in Ukraine as well as purchases of U.S.‑made systems and fuel via NATO channels.
