Denmark pledges over $48 million for Ukrainian artillery ammunition
Denmark has allocated 317 million Danish kroner (approximately $48.5 million) to finance Estonia’s purchase of artillery ammunition for Ukraine, the Danish Ministry of Defence confirmed.
Thus, the funding was announced ahead of a meeting between Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen and his Estonian counterpart Hanno Pevkur, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
The two ministers are expected to discuss further support for Ukraine’s armed forces, as well as efforts to bolster the country’s cybersecurity infrastructure.
The latest pledge forms part of Denmark’s broader support package to Ukraine, which has totalled around €8.5 billion in military aid and an additional €854 million in civilian assistance since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022.
As a reminder, military contributions include F-16 fighter jets, Leopard tanks, Caesar artillery systems, and substantial air defence support. Notably, Denmark has pioneered the "Danish model," facilitating local weapons production in Ukraine to expedite delivery and reduce costs.
On the humanitarian front, Denmark has allocated over €130 million for emergency relief and reconstruction, addressing critical needs such as energy infrastructure, mine clearance, and support for displaced populations.
