Denmark’s Terma A/S tests AI-powered drone detection in Ukraine
Denmark’s leading defence manufacturer Terma A/S has conducted field tests of its artificial intelligence–based drone-detection technologies in Ukraine, according to Ukrainian Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
In a statement on his official Telegram channel, Fedorov said Danish engineers are integrating Terma’s system with the Ukrainian-made Gorska interceptor drone produced by Odd Systems. The goal, he noted, is to detect Russian aerial targets at significantly greater distances, Caliber.Az reports.
Fedorov highlighted that the testing was carried out with support from the Ukrainian defence-tech cluster Brave1, which provided direct military feedback. He described the collaboration as a unique and valuable experience for both sides.
Terma A/S, a long-time supplier to major Western defenxe programs and a producer of more than 80 components for the F-35 fighter jet, formalised its cooperation with Odd Systems on July 21, 2025. The next phase of testing is expected to begin once the Ukrainian military delivers its latest assessments.
The minister also reiterated that several Ukrainian and international companies are now involved in producing interceptor drones—systems that have become increasingly important to Ukraine’s air-defence efforts against large-scale Russian drone attacks.
