Depardieu to close production centre in Russia
Famous French actor Gerard Depardieu, who received Russian citizenship in 2013, has decided to close his production centre in Russia.
A friend and producer of the actor, Arnaud Frilley, explained that the closure of the centre was due to a pause in projects, TASS reported.
Assessing the prospects of opening a new centre, Frilley said that the resumption of activity is possible once more specific information on future projects becomes available.
"This structure was created for the development of audiovisual projects. Without vigorous activity, this system is useless, since it requires expenses even during downtime", the producer explained.
Caliber.Az recalls, that Gerard Depardieu moved to Russia in 2013 in an attempt to avoid higher taxes in his native France and was granted citizenship by President Putin personally.
