The session, titled "Global Governance in Times of Crisis: Reviving Multilateralism for a Multipolar World," addressed key global issues and the importance of multilateralism, Caliber.Az reports.
Rzayev spoke about Azerbaijan’s active role as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, emphasizing the country’s ongoing efforts to foster peace and cooperation both regionally and internationally. The Deputy Minister also highlighted the results of the 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which was held in Baku.
He noted the significant steps taken to combat the climate crisis, particularly the agreement on climate financing. According to the agreement, $300 billion will be allocated annually until 2035 to address climate-related issues, helping developing countries that are most affected by climate change.
