Azerbaijan expresses solidarity with Pakistan after fatal coal mine accident

Azerbaijan has expressed its condolences to Pakistan following the deadly coal mine accident in the country's Balochistan province that claimed multiple lives and left many others injured.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it was "deeply saddened" by the tragedy and conveyed its sympathy to the victims' families and the people of Pakistan, Caliber.Az reports.

"We are deeply saddened by the news of deadly coal mine accident in Balochistan, Pakistan, which claimed many lives and caused injuries.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and to the brotherly people and government of Pakistan.

We wish a speedy recovery to the injured and hope that all those affected are brought to safety as swiftly as possible," the statement reads.

At least 34 people have been killed in a coal mine collapse in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, authorities said.

The mine owner said a methane explosion may have triggered the collapse.

A total of 42 workers were underground at the time of the incident.
