Zhaparov hails new era in Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani ties after allied relations deal

The signing of the treaty on allied relations between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan marks a new stage in bilateral cooperation, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov said.

“An important outcome of today's negotiations was the signing of the treaty on allied relations. This is a truly historic event, marking a new stage in Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani cooperation,” President Sadyr Zhaparov said during a press statement with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Caliber.Az reports.

Zhaparov highlighted that a broad package of bilateral documents had also been signed, covering key areas including energy, transport, cybersecurity, education, financial market regulation, and the circulation of precious metals.

“Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan consistently support each other and successfully coordinate their approaches on issues of mutual interest,” the Kyrgyz leader stated.

He noted that political dialogue between the two countries had reached its highest level, emphasising the importance of regular contacts and mutual trust.

"I note with satisfaction that the political dialogue between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan is at the highest level today. Regular contacts and mutual trust create a solid foundation for further strengthening the allied relations established today," President Zhaparov emphasised.
