Deputy PM for European Integration: Ukraine to be granted EU candidate status in June
A meeting of the leaders of the countries of the European Union is to take place in June. Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishyna said that at this meeting, Ukraine will be granted the status of an EU candidate.
It is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Stefanishina's statement in the telethon.
According to her, the part of the documents that Ukraine has already transferred to the EU has already been processed.
“There were no further questions. Our work has been highly appreciated. We have closed this part of the work and are preparing to complete all the work by the end of next week in order to transfer the book of our statehood to the EU in full,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
She also added that when the EU leaders gather for a summit in June, Ukraine will be given the charter of a candidate member of the EU.
"We expect that when EU leaders gather for a summit in June this year, Ukraine will be granted the status of an EU candidate," Stefanyshina said.
