Documentary on US First Lady Melania releases internationally
The documentary film "Melania", focusing on the US First Lady, has been released internationally.
The film covers the twenty days leading up to Donald Trump’s return to power in January 2025 and portrays Melania Trump as an informal presidential adviser, Caliber.Az reports via American media.
Amazon invested approximately $40 million in the project, part of which, according to U.S. media, was paid directly to Melania. An additional $35 million was allocated for international promotion. After the theatrical run, the documentary will become an Amazon Prime Video exclusive.
The official premiere took place at the Kennedy Centre in Washington, whose renaming to the “Trump–Kennedy Center” has been the subject of legal disputes.
The film is showing in cinemas across 27 countries, though its release in South Africa was cancelled amid deteriorating relations with the Trump administration.
