Donald Trump named Time's "Person of the Year" for second time
The renowned American "Time Magazine" has named US President-elect Donald Trump as their person of the year for the second time.
Donald Trump was praised by the publication for orchestrating a historic political comeback, reshaping the presidency, and altering America’s global role.
Trump was first recognized as Person of the Year in 2016 following his presidential election victory. Calling the politician's return to the American White House a "political rebirth [...] unparalleled in American history", the magazine was given a lengthy interview by Trump, in which he discussed his plans for a second term, which at one point seemed unlikely.
He reflected on his recent victory over Vice President Kamala Harris, calling his campaign "flawless" and emphasizing its focus on immigration, the economy, and other key issues that resonated with voters more than the Democratic message. Trump also stated that under his leadership, the Republican Party has become the party of "common sense".
Donald Trump will commemorate the honor by ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange with his family.
