Drone and missile strike targets Kuwait International Airport
Kuwait International Airport has activated emergency procedures after what authorities described as a drone and missile attack launched from Iran targeted its main passenger terminal, causing damage and casualties.
In a statement carried by the state news agency KUNA, Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation said Terminal 1 had come under attack, prompting an immediate response.
“Kuwait International Airport has activated its emergency response plan after Terminal 1 of the passenger complex was targeted by Iranian drones and missiles,” the authority said.
The agency added that the strike resulted in “serious damage to a number of airport facilities, with casualties reported.”
Following the incident, Kuwaiti authorities suspended all departing flights and began diverting incoming aircraft to alternative airports, measures that will remain in place until further notice.
