Drone attacks hit Kuwait international airport
Kuwait’s civil aviation authorities said on March 28 that Kuwait International Airport was targeted in multiple drone attacks, causing significant damage but no reported casualties.
Abdullah Al-Rajhi, spokesperson for the Directorate General of Civil Aviationsaid that the airport had been struck by several unmanned aerial vehicles. He confirmed that no injuries were recorded, with the damage limited to infrastructure, Caliber.Az reports via KUNA on Facebook.
According to Al-Rajhi, the attacks caused major damage to the airport’s radar system, raising concerns about operational capacity.
Emergency response teams and specialised units were deployed immediately to contain the situation and assess the extent of the damage. Authorities said steps are underway to ensure the safety of airport operations and to restore full functionality as quickly as possible.
Al-Rajhi added that the civil aviation authority is working in close coordination with relevant agencies to safeguard air traffic and maintain aviation safety standards across Kuwait.
