Drone crash site in Lithuania found to contain explosives, authorities say
Lithuanian authorities have confirmed that explosives were discovered at the site where a downed drone was found, according to foreign media.
The country’s Police Anti-terrorist Operations Unit (ARAS) determined that explosive materials were present among the wreckage, prompting officials to neutralise them on site due to the risk of transport to nearby residents.
The area has been cordoned off and placed under heightened security. A section of the Sudeikiai–Bikuškis road has been temporarily closed, and residents have been urged to maintain a safe distance.
Because parts of the drone debris are partially embedded in the ground, authorities have also evacuated residents from two nearby homesteads as a precaution to eliminate any risk to life and safety.
