Drone crashes at Iraq’s Majnun oil field without causing damage
An unmanned aerial vehicle crashed on the morning of March 28 at the Majnun oil field in Iraq’s southern Basra province, the Iraqi Ministry of Defence said on X.
The incident occurred at approximately 08:30 a.m. local time within the area of responsibility of the 3rd Regiment of the 9th Brigade of the Energy Police Directorate in the Al-Deir district. According to the ministry, the drone did not explode and caused no material damage or injuries, Caliber.Az reports.
Forces at the scene immediately informed the Basra Operations Command and the Al-Nashwa police station. Engineering units and explosive ordnance disposal teams were subsequently dispatched to recover and defuse the drone in line with established procedures.
The ministry said law enforcement agencies are continuing to monitor the situation and are taking necessary steps to ensure the security of vital facilities and protect personnel.
