Drone detonates near Israeli evacuation helicopter in southern Lebanon VIDEO

A drone exploded just a few meters from an Israeli evacuation helicopter on the ground in southern Lebanon, killing Sergeant Idan Fox in the incident.

The evacuation helicopter was reportedly being used to transport wounded Israeli soldiers when the explosion occurred, Israeli media reports.

The Hezbollah group has claimed responsibility for the attack, confirming its involvement.

In a statement, the organisation said the strike was carried out “in response to attacks on villages in southern Lebanon that resulted in deaths and injuries among civilians.” 

It added that fighters from what it called the “Islamic resistance” targeted an Israeli evacuation unit in the settlement of Taybeh using a strike drone, claiming a confirmed hit.
