Drone strike in Kyiv destroys building housing Azerbaijani family PHOTO
A drone attack on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv has resulted in the destruction of a building where an Azerbaijani family, led by diaspora activist Rashad Taghiyev, resided.
Taghiyev and his family were fortunate to survive the attack, but their ground-floor apartment was completely destroyed, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Taghiyev, who shared his harrowing experience, said, “As soon as the air alarm sounded, we took shelter in the corridor and in the bathroom,” he recalled.
Despite the terrifying moment, Taghiyev said he and his wife miraculously survived.
The destruction extended beyond the building the family lived in. Tagiyev, who works tirelessly to deliver humanitarian aid, revealed that their office was also hit. “We had an office in a neighbouring building. The office of our humanitarian fund was also destroyed. There were many wounded,” he said, expressing the gravity of the attack’s impact.
