Drone strikes 16-storey residential building in Kyiv VIDEO
A drone struck a 16-storey residential building in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district amid a reported Russian drone attack on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Wednesday, September 9.
Information on possible casualties and the extent of the damage was still being established, Klitschko said.
Earlier, Ukrainian media reported explosions in Kyiv as Russian unmanned aerial vehicles targeted the capital. The air-raid alert in Kyiv had been in effect intermittently since the previous day and had accumulated to about 20 hours, according to the reports.
Residents were urged to remain in shelters until the air-raid warning was lifted.
The latest attack followed a major Russian missile and drone barrage on Kyiv, with Ukrainian authorities reporting casualties and widespread damage across the capital.
