Drone strikes in northern Iraq wound Iranian Kurdish fighters
22 April 2026 13:59
Three Iranian Kurdish fighters have been wounded in drone strikes in northern Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdish region, according to an exiled opposition group that blamed Iran for the attack.
The Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK) said “Tehran launched an attack with four drones on bases” belonging to its forces, resulting in injuries to three of its members, Al Jazeera reports.
A spokesperson for the group, Kalel Kani Sanani, told AFP that the fighters sustained minor injuries. He added that the strikes occurred in the Khabat district of Erbil province, part of Iraq’s northern Kurdish region.
