Drone strikes spark multiple fires across Kyiv, mayor says PHOTO / VIDEO
Fires have erupted in several residential areas of Kyiv following attacks by drones, the city’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, has said.
In the Darnytskyi district, multiple private houses have caught fire, with at least two homes sustaining damage.
In the Obolonskyi district, firefighters are battling a blaze in a three-storey private home caused by a drone strike. Another fire broke out in a two-storey house in Darnytskyi, where debris also hit a 24-storey apartment building, partially destroying the top and technical floors.
Mayor Klitschko warned of the risk of flames spreading to a neighbouring building housing elderly residents. Rescue teams evacuated ten people from the property.
Meanwhile, in the Dniprovskyi district, a fire has been reported on the fourth floor of an 18-storey building. The mayor added that another building nearby is also burning on its upper floors after being hit by drone debris.
