Drone wreckage discovered near Moldova-Ukraine border
Moldovan border authorities discovered debris from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on March 17 in a field near the village of Tudora, in southern Moldova, just 500 metres from the Ukrainian border, Newsmaker reports.
Tudora lies close to Moldova’s Palanca, the only land corridor connecting the country to southern Ukraine’s Odessa region.
Border police reported that earlier in the night, Moldova’s airspace had been violated by a drone visually resembling a “Shahed.” The drone was observed flying at an altitude of approximately 150 metres, heading toward the village of Căplani, located about 13 kilometres from Tudora.
Authorities have not reported any injuries or further incidents related to the drone, and investigations into the airspace violation are ongoing.
