Dutch police detain seven after deadly shooting in Rotterdam

A man has died following a shooting in central Rotterdam early on July 3, with police detaining seven people as part of the investigation.

The incident occurred at around 5:30 a.m. local time (0430 GMT), and witnesses said they heard several gunshots before emergency responders arrived at the scene, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.

"The man was seriously injured in the incident and died shortly afterwards in hospital. Police have arrested seven suspects," police noted in a statement.

Authorities have not disclosed the victim's identity.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances of the shooting and the role each of the seven suspects may have played.
