EAEU, Iran sign three-year roadmap for trade and economic cooperation Details
The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Iran have signed a three-year roadmap for trade and economic cooperation, said Andrey Slepnev, Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
“A three-year roadmap for cooperation on implementing the agreement has been signed. It is a comprehensive document that includes key sections such as transport logistics, with a primary focus on the ‘North–South’ corridor," Slepnev said following a meeting of the joint committee on implementing the free trade agreement, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Slepnev added: "We have agreed on the creation of ‘green customs corridors’, digitalisation, and the transition to electronic transit, which opens up opportunities for our companies to speed up deliveries," said Slepnev.
The EEC Minister also noted the significant work being done to lift import restrictions in Iran.
"These are truly unique preferences granted to Eurasian Economic Union countries by Iran," he stated.
