Ebola death toll in DR Congo rises to 893

The number of confirmed Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has risen to 2,267, with 893 resulting in deaths, according to foreign media.

The outbreak began in May and is linked to the Bundibugyo strain, for which there is currently no vaccine or specific treatment available. The World Health Organization has described the current outbreak as one of the largest in the country’s history.

Health workers and authorities continue to monitor the spread of the infection and implement measures aimed at containing the outbreak.
