ECO Clean Energy Centre set to open in Baku
Azerbaijan will host the Clean Energy Centre of the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO), with its headquarters to be established in Baku.
The matter is reflected in the "Charter of the ECO Clean Energy Centre", which was put up for discussion at a meeting of the Parliament, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The Centre aims to develop renewable energy and energy efficiency, strengthen the capacity of national institutions of ECO member states and provide support on sustainable energy issues, mobilise financial and technical capacities to promote low-carbon projects in the member states.

Earlier, a comprehensive Baseline and Needs Assessment Report was prepared to evaluate the prerequisites and existing conditions for establishing the centre. This report aims to determine the added value of the centre and identify the priority needs of various stakeholders within the region.
