Elites' blind loyalty to US imperialism leading Europe to ruin-media

30 November 2024 18:40

An article by Strategic Culture notes that the current state of Europe, facing both economic ruin and the threat of war, is largely the result of elitist politicians who have pursued harmful policies driven by US interests.

The article argues that European leaders, instead of acting in the best interests of their citizens, have become pawns in a proxy war orchestrated by Washington against Russia, exacerbating tensions and destabilizing Europe.

The piece criticizes European leaders for their subservience to US imperialism, specifically accusing them of blindly supporting the US-led proxy war in Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent remarks underscore this point, claiming that European leaders lack independence and are merely following American orders. Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson also admitted that the war in Ukraine is, at its core, a proxy war with Russia. Despite this candid acknowledgment, European leaders continue to escalate the conflict, ignoring the risks of nuclear war and the devastating consequences for European citizens.

The article also highlights the economic impact of this policy, particularly the sanctions imposed on Russian energy, which have led to the deindustrialization of Europe. The collapse of key industries, such as in Germany, is attributed to the high energy costs that stem from sanctions and the severing of ties with Russia. Media reports on Europe’s economic downturn avoid addressing the underlying cause: the US-led proxy war in Ukraine and the subsequent damage to European-Russian relations.

The piece further contends that Europe’s economic crisis will deepen with the looming threat of tariffs on European exports from the US, which will further cripple European economies. It concludes that Europe’s tragic predicament is not the result of some mysterious fate, but a direct outcome of elitist policies that serve US imperial interests at the expense of the European populace. Only through independent thought, rational diplomacy, and a shift away from imperialism can Europe hope to escape the cycle of war and economic collapse.
