Elon Musk eyes Starlink for every car to handle AI data boom
American entrepreneur Elon Musk stated that Starlink internet terminals will eventually be available in every car, as the satellite system will help handle the growing volume of internet traffic generated by artificial intelligence.
“Starlink will be available in all cars in the future. It is the only way to provide ultra-high bandwidth for billions of vehicles,” Musk said in a post on X.
In other posts, he linked the network’s development to the expected growth in internet traffic generated by AI agents. Musk argues that such traffic will significantly exceed the volume of data used by humans, while Starlink will be the only system capable of supporting the corresponding increase in bandwidth.
Starlink is a global satellite broadband internet network developed by Musk-owned SpaceX. The system operates using thousands of satellites in low Earth orbit. According to the company, connection latency is around 25 milliseconds.
