Embassy: Member of Qatar's ruling family among dead in Egypt car accident
Three staff members of the office of the Emir of Qatar, including Saud bin Samer Al Thani, a member of the ruling Al Thani family, were killed in a road traffic accident in Egypt on the evening of October 11.
The Qatari Embassy in Egypt confirmed the incident and expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased, per Caliber.Az.
“This is a tragic loss for Qatar and its diplomatic service. We mourn those who dedicated their work to promoting peace,” the embassy said in a statement.
It was also reported that two other Qatari nationals were injured in the accident.
Earlier, Al Arabiya reported that the vehicle crashed due to high speed and a tyre blowout on a tunnel road in the Al-Tur area, about 50 km from Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.
