Envoy: China plans to expand cooperation with Russia
Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui has said that China plans to expand cooperation with the Russian Federation at all stages of production.
"China expects to expand cooperation across the entire production chain in the energy sector," Gazeta.ru quotes him as saying ahead of the 28th regular meeting of the heads of government of Russia and China.
Zhang Hanhui emphasised that "in the face of fluctuations in the global energy market and external risks and challenges", Beijing and Moscow adhere to the principles of mutual trust and mutual benefit. The ambassador noted that China and Russia contribute to global energy security by continuously enhancing cooperation in the energy sector.
Before that, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said that by 2030, Russia and China intend to increase trade turnover to $300 billion. He also specified that in the first 11 months of 2023, the trade turnover between the states exceeded $201 billion.
Earlier, the Russian government estimated the growth of agricultural exports to China.
