Belarusian MFA summons Polish diplomat over alleged anti-Minsk event
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus has summoned the chargé d'affaires of Poland in response to a planned provocative event aimed at harming Belarusian interests, according to a statement by the ministry’s press secretary Ruslan Varankov.
Speaking to BELTA, Varankov said the ministry had issued an official note to the Polish diplomat after receiving information about an event allegedly scheduled for August 9–10 in Warsaw, Caliber.Az reports.
The gathering is reportedly set to take place at Piłsudski Square and the University of Warsaw and is said to be organised by members of the Belarusian diaspora.
“These individuals, known for their destructive and provocative activities, are being supported by official Warsaw,” Varankov claimed. “Such hostile actions do not contribute to restoring normal dialogue between our countries and directly harm Belarusian-Polish relations.”
He added that the Belarusian Foreign Ministry would continue to monitor developments and “reserves the right to take necessary countermeasures in response to any provocative actions.”
