Envoy denies Moscow’s usage of nuclear weapons in Ukraine

Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin believes that Moscow will not use nuclear weapons, including tactical ones, during the military operation in Ukraine. According to him, the Russian authorities believe that "a nuclear war cannot be won."

Kelin made the remarks during an interview with the British TV channel Sky News on November 3.

"The nuclear war cannot be won and it should never be fought. And we stick strongly to this statement," Kelin stressed.

When asked whether Moscow might use tactical nuclear weapons in the conflict, the ambassador replied: "No. The world has every assurance that Russia is not going to use [a] tactical nuclear weapon in [the] Ukrainian conflict."
