Erdogan to address economic reforms, security, and US ties in cabinet meeting
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is set to meet with the Cabinet on January 21 to discuss Türkiye's strategic roadmap under the new US administration led by Donald Trump.
According to sources cited by "Türkiye" daily, the meeting will cover a range of important topics, including counter-terrorism operations in Iraq and northern Syria, especially in light of the leadership change in the US, per Caliber.Az.
The Cabinet will also review the ongoing "Türkiye Without Terrorism" initiative, which focuses on enhancing security, border management, and regional cooperation.
Another key issue on the agenda will be the progress of the process initiated by MHP leader Devlet Bahceli in collaboration with the DEM party. The economic situation, including efforts to tackle inflation, improve purchasing power, and implement reforms, will also be a major topic of discussion.
The meeting will include in-depth discussions on how to navigate relations with the newly inaugurated US President Donald Trump. The roadmap for maintaining strong ties with the US under Trump’s leadership will be carefully examined.
Donald Trump officially assumed office as the 47th President of the United States on January 20, with the swearing-in ceremony held at the Capitol Rotunda in Washington, due to unusually cold temperatures. The event was attended by former presidents, including Joe Biden, as well as various world leaders.
