Erdogan: Türkiye to prevent threat of famine
By signing the Grain Shipment Agreement today, we can avert the threat of famine and rising prices everywhere from Africa to the Middle East, from America to Asia.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this at the signing ceremony of the Grain Transportation Agreement in Istanbul, APA correspondent reports in Istanbul.
He noted that Türkiye, in cooperation with the Russian and Ukrainian sides, did a great job to sign the agreement.
According to the president, everything is coordinated in the agreement - from the departure of ships from the ports up to the arrival at their destination.
Erdogan added that the war has an impact on the whole world, and it is necessary to end the suffering of innocent people:
"I wish that this joint step contributes to peace. The war will be stopped only at the table."
