Estonia launches military exercises featuring HIMARS, Caesar artillery systems
The Estonian Defence Forces have commenced a two-day live-fire exercise at the Nursipalu training area, located in the southeastern region of the Baltic state which marks a significant step in enhancing Estonia’s artillery capabilities and interoperability with Western defence technology.
The drills will involve the deployment and firing of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) HIMARS, Caesar self-propelled howitzers, and 120mm mortars, Caliber.Az reports, citing Estonian media.
Notably, this exercise represents the first occasion on which live firing using HIMARS and Caesar systems has taken place on Estonian soil.
A spokesperson for the Defence Forces highlighted the importance of the exercise, emphasizing its role in advancing operational readiness and demonstrating Estonia’s commitment to strengthening its defence posture.
