Estonia ready to send troops to Ukraine once safety conditions met
Estonian authorities have expressed their readiness to send military personnel to Ukraine, contingent upon the fulfillment of safety conditions and adequate preparation by Kyiv.
Speaking upon his arrival at an informal meeting of EU foreign and defence ministers in Copenhagen, Estonia's Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur explained that Estonia is prepared to consider the deployment of troops to Ukraine, but stressed that the Ukrainians must first be ready for such a move, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
He described the operation as large-scale, requiring substantial logistical efforts and security guarantees.
The defence minister also highlighted that even if a ceasefire is established, deploying an international mission in Ukraine demands thorough preparation. He noted that Estonia would be ready to act when Ukraine formally requests their presence.
