Estonian government announces "Shipp" military training drills

The Estonian Government has announced that it would hold extraordinary military exercises named "Shipp" in the country, with the participation of "Kaitseliit" paramilitary units.

This is reported by the local ERR broadcaster, with reference to a statement by the Cabinet.

"In accordance with the decision of the Government, 658 personnel of Pärnu, Saaremaaska and Läänensky Guard «Kaitseliit» of the Western Territorial Defense District units are called to participate in the training camp", it stated.

According to the order, 172 Kaitseliit members are also called who will take part in the exercises as part of their units. The training events will be held from 26 to 29 January.
