Etihad Airways to resume limited flights from Abu Dhabi
Etihad Airways said it plans to resume “limited commercial flight operations” on Friday as disruptions continue across the Middle East.
According to the company, the escalation of fighting in the region has led to the cancellation of thousands of flights across the Middle East, leaving many passengers stranded.
In a statement, Etihad said passengers with existing bookings will be placed on flights departing from Abu Dhabi to “a number of key destinations.”
The destinations include Cairo, London, Paris, New York City, Rome, Moscow, Madrid and Seoul, as well as other major cities.
The airline advised travellers not to go to the airport unless they have been contacted directly by Etihad or have a confirmed booking on one of the newly scheduled flights.
All other regular commercial flights to and from Abu Dhabi remain suspended.
Etihad added that the decision was coordinated with the relevant authorities and that flights will operate only if specific safety criteria are met.
