EU approves additional €8.3 billion in support for Ukraine

30 July 2026 13:48

The Council of the European Union has approved changes to the Ukraine Facility, paving the way for an additional €8.3 billion in financial assistance for Ukraine in 2026.

The revised plan provides for an additional €8.3 billion in financing for 2026 through the Ukraine Support Loan, a lending instrument agreed by the European Parliament and the Council earlier this year, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.

According to the European Commission's proposal, the plan includes additional reform commitments, particularly in the areas of the rule of law and anti-corruption.

The Ukraine Facility, which came into force on March 1, 2024, provides more than €50 billion in grants and loans to support Ukraine's recovery, reconstruction, and modernisation between 2024 and 2027.
