EU condemns Iran crackdown, readies swift new sanctions
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the European Union will “swiftly” propose additional sanctions targeting those responsible for repressing demonstrations in Iran.
Von der Leyen voiced serious concern over the situation in the country in a statement posted on the social media platform X, Caliber.Az reports.

In close cooperation with HRVP Kaja Kallas, further sanctions on those responsible for the repression will be swiftly proposed.
We stand with the people of Iran who are bravely marching for their liberty,” the post by von der Leyen reads.
