EU diplomats remain in Kyiv as US embassy departs—official

European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said EU diplomatic missions continue to operate in Kyiv, while the United States Embassy has reportedly departed the Ukrainian capital.

Kallas made the remarks upon arriving at an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Cyprus, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

“What we heard from Ukraine yesterday was that all the embassies stayed, except one, so that also takes courage from those embassies, but yes, all the European stayed, America left,” Kallas said.

She did not provide additional details regarding the reported departure of the US diplomatic mission from Kyiv.
