EU discussing additional €30–45 billion in support for Ukraine

29 June 2026 10:40

The European Union is considering providing Ukraine with an additional €30–45 billion in financial assistance if the conflict continues beyond 2027, according to a senior member of the European Parliament.

Pekka Toveri, chair of the European Parliament's EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, told Izvestia that discussions are already underway to ensure continued support for Ukraine after current funding commitments expire.

"Discussions and planning for the future are already underway to ensure there are no gaps in support after 2027," Toveri said.

He noted that the EU has allocated €90 billion in funding for Ukraine for the 2026–2027 period. If additional assistance is required beyond that timeframe, further financial support from the EU and other international donors could total between €30 billion and €45 billion, he added.
