EU high rep disagrees with people opposing supply of weapons to Ukraine

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell does not understand people who consider the supply of weapons to Ukraine by the European Union as the reason for the continuation of the crisis.

In an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper, the politician stressed that he did not agree with this position.

“I don’t understand those who say that the more weapons we will supply to Ukraine, the longer the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the suffering of Ukrainians will last. I wonder whether any end of this Russia-Ukraine war plays any role for you. Should Ukrainians, torn to pieces by Russians, fall to their knees? Do you want this?” Borrell said.

The EU high representative stressed that Brussels is acting correctly by supporting the supply of weapons to Ukraine’s Kyiv city as the hostilities on Ukrainian territory will sooner or later lead to negotiations that Ukraine should conduct by using force.
