EU national security advisors arrive in Kyiv for high-level meetings photo
On the morning of January 3, national security advisors from several European countries and international organisations arrived in Kyiv, Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, reported on his social media page.
Representatives from Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Finland, Canada, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Norway, as well as officials from NATO, the European Council, and the European Commission, are participating in the working meetings.
“A busy working day lies ahead: security and economic issues, work on framework documents, coordination of further steps with partners,” Umerov said.
The meetings in Kyiv precede a session of the leaders of the “coalition of the willing” scheduled for January 6. Following that, another meeting at the advisers’ level will take place in France, after which preparations will begin for a summit involving European leaders and the US president.
Earlier, on December 30, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that some of the documents aimed at resolving the war, developed as part of the negotiation process, would be ready for signing in January.
