EU reaffirms support for Lebanon with €500-million aid package

The European Union has allocated 500 million euros to Lebanon.

The announcement was made by EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi on his X page, Caliber.Az reports.

“In these very difficult moments for the region, the EU reaffirms its strong support for Lebanon and the Lebanese people and delivers on its promise by adopting today 1st €500-million tranche out of €1 billion financial support for 2024-25 for areas such as health, education, water, economic growth, refurbishment, security,” Varhelyi wrote.
