EU reaffirms support for Ukraine’s defence Remains neutral on Kursk events
The European Union has reaffirmed its strong support for Ukraine’s military actions as the country continues to assert its right to self-defence and territorial integrity.
During a recent briefing at the European Commission, Nabila Massrali, a representative of the EU's foreign policy service, emphasized the EU’s commitment to backing Ukraine’s efforts to defend itself, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Massrali clarified that while the EU fully supports Ukraine’s right to protect its sovereignty, it remains neutral on specific incidents occurring in the Kursk region. The EU has chosen not to comment on these events, as it is not directly involved in the situation.
"The EU is committed to supporting Ukraine’s efforts to realize its right to self-defence and restore its territorial integrity," Massrali stated. She noted that the military equipment provided by EU countries is intended to aid Ukraine in protecting its borders and maintaining its sovereignty.
Massrali also addressed recent remarks by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has justified military actions in the Kursk region as necessary for defending Ukraine’s territorial claims. While the EU acknowledges Zelenskyy’s position, it maintains a neutral stance on the specific details of the conflict in that area.
