EU rules out Kyiv evacuation, pledges more military aid to Ukraine
The European Union has no plans to evacuate its diplomats from Kyiv and intends to continue increasing its military support for Ukraine.
According to TASS, European Commission spokesperson Anitta Hipper made the remarks at a briefing in Brussels in response to warnings from the Russian Foreign Ministry advising Western diplomats to leave the Ukrainian capital.
She said the EU would maintain its diplomatic presence in Kyiv and would instead step up its military support for Ukraine. She also indicated that the bloc aimed to hold accountable those responsible for attacks on what it considers non-military targets.
Hipper further noted that the European External Action Service had summoned the head of Russia’s mission to the EU to communicate the bloc’s position.
