EU's Kallas calls on Ukraine to keep reform drive on track
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas has said that while the formation of Ukraine's government is a domestic matter, Kyiv must continue pursuing reforms as it seeks closer integration with the European Union.
Speaking ahead of a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council on July 13, Kallas commented publicly for the first time on the recent reshuffle of Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Council of the European Union.
She said the European Union respected Ukraine's right to determine its own government but stressed that the continuation of reforms remained essential for the bloc.
Kallas noted that progress on reforms was closely linked to the EU's enlargement agenda, adding that Brussels expected Ukraine to continue delivering on its reform commitments as part of its accession process.
