EU to discuss winter aid for Ukraine with partners

EU foreign ministers will discuss future assistance to Ukraine ahead of winter with counterparts from the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway and Canada during an informal meeting in Wicklow, Ireland, on September 2, European Commissioner Marta Kos has stated.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, she warned that the brutal war in Ukraine is becoming even more brutal and that, in July alone, in just one month, 436 innocent people were killed, and more than 2,000 were injured, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.

“Therefore, I am very glad that together with our partners – Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland – we will discuss how we can help Ukraine even more as we prepare it for winter,” Kos added.

She suggested that the coming winter could become “the worst winter in history.”
